About
Trust is the product.
Bishop exists because a captain in Tripoli and a crewing manager in Benghazi should not need three mutual friends to find each other.
Why Libya first
Libyan operators, scheduled, charter and air ambulance, face some of the sharpest short-notice crew shortages in the region, and the fewest tools to solve them. Recruitment still runs on phone books, forwarded CVs and group chats. A licence photo in a chat is not verification, and a pilot who said he was free last month may not be free this week.
At the same time, the region has more qualified pilots than the market can see: captains between contracts in Egypt and Tunisia, first officers building hours, cadets finishing training. Their availability is invisible to the operators who would pay for it.
Bishop puts a verified profile on one side, a verified company on the other, and a Crew Board in the middle that both can act on. We start with pilots in Libya and its neighbours and expand to the Gulf, the Levant and North Africa as the board fills.
How we work
Verification before reach
Nobody posts availability or urgent requests without a review. The badge is worth something only if it is hard to get.
Arabic is not a translation
Every screen is designed in both languages, right-to-left included, with numerals kept Western as pilots expect.
Privacy by default
Licence numbers are never public. Documents are stored privately and shared only through expiring links. Row-level security on every table.
Built with the first 200
Founding pilots and operators get direct access to the team and a vote on the roadmap.
The team
Bishop is built by its founder, Mohamed Elashaheb, working with seven AI departments (strategy, business development, marketing, regulatory research, communications, web and app development). They are named after navigation stars, and they are software, not colleagues. We say so here rather than let you find out later, because a platform whose product is verification cannot be vague about who stands behind the badge.
A person is accountable for everything on this site. Regulatory work is research, not legal advice: licensed counsel in each launch market reviews it before we rely on it, and every pilot verification is reviewed by a human before a badge is issued.
