Privacy Policy
Draft: to be replaced by the counsel-approved version before launch. This text is a placeholder prepared by the product team while the regulatory team and licensed counsel in Libya prepare the final wording.
Who we are
Bishop ("we", "us") operates the Bishop website, the iOS and Android applications and the waitlist. Contact details are on the Contact page.
What we collect
Waitlist: name, email, role (pilot or operator), country and optionally airline. App accounts: profile data you enter such as rank, licence type and authority, hours, type ratings, base and status; documents you upload for verification (licence, medical certificate, optionally passport and type rating certificates); messages, posts, connections and device push tokens.
Why we collect it
To operate the network and Crew Board, to verify pilots and operators, to notify you of matching urgent requests or availability, to provide support and billing, and to keep the service safe. We do not sell personal data.
Verification documents
Documents are stored in a private storage bucket and served only through signed, expiring links to the Bishop verification team. Licence numbers are never shown publicly. Operators see the verification badge, not the documents.
Sharing
Your public profile is visible to other members. Availability posts are visible to Operator Pro members. We use service providers for hosting (Vercel), database and storage (Supabase), payments (Stripe) and push notifications (Expo). Each processes data under contract and only for the service they provide.
Retention
Waitlist entries are kept until launch communications end or you ask us to delete them. Account data is kept while the account is active and for a limited period afterwards for legal and security reasons. You can request deletion at any time.
Your rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, and object to certain processing, by writing to us. We respond within thirty days.
International transfers and local law
Data may be processed outside your country. The final version of this policy will set out the legal basis for transfers and the applicable data protection rules in Libya and each launch market, as advised by counsel.
Changes
We will post changes on this page and, for material changes, notify account holders in the app or by email.
